Mater Foundation Fundraiser

Raising money for the Adult Oncology Ward at Mater Hospital

“A Little Comfort”

Sitting for my First Dan Black Belt gave me the opportunity to get involved in some charity work. As a average family we try to do what we can donating to local charities, supporting St Vincents by recycling clothes, ect. but nothing that has been so close to my heart as this.

My family and I have a wonderful friend, we were absolutely devastated to be told that she had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer, for such a vibrant, beautiful and healthy woman to have been afflicted with such a terrible disease was beyond reason. This brave person went through excruciating surgery’s and many weeks of convalescing at home with only very limited family and friends for support, all the while still running a household, surgery was only the start of her long term road to recovery, she spent the next six months spending long days in the Mater Hospital receiving chemotherapy treatment.

Security & Crowd Controller Courses and Licences

New Club Initiative available now
Security & Crowd Controller Courses and Licences

From 1 February 2011, members of this club will be able to gain the above accreditation/ licences at heavily discounted prices which are exclusive only to our club members.
Courses available are Certificates 2 and 3.
Upon your completion of the Certificate 2 course you will have the option to take up a cadetship in Certificate 3 via this recognised training office (RTO).

Once you have completed either of these courses you will be given the opportunity for either part time or full time employment. Our club recently worked at the U2 and Bon Jovi concerts under this arrangement.

We currently train security personnel via the Hapkido School in which we have a number of our members currently performing either full time or part time employment in this area.
I have secured the services of a long term acquaintance that will professionally train and mentor our members seeking the above credentials.
There is plenty of work currently available for our club members via this arrangement.

This is not a “bouncer “course nor am I encouraging this type of activity from members.
The type of work on offer does not jeopardise the club image:-
Parties, Entertainment events at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Big Day out etc.
Corporate functions., NRL (Broncos Games) etc.

More information will be available mid January but should you have an interest in either obtaining a new licence or upgrading existing licences please email me direct by 20 January.
The first course Certificate 2 will be conducted in February.
You just be 18 years of age.

Welcome to 2011

Welcome to 2011 and I hope everyone had a great Xmas & new year.

To our club members west of Toowoomba we express our sympathies for the flood damage and the personal grief associated with it. If we can help we most certainly will and I have already offered to your instructors for us to come and help you clean up.

We are all part of this school.

Whilst on the note of the Western Clubs can I say thank you so much to your hospitality shown to us on our recent visit at xmas.

It is so appreciated that you generously give your time and homes to make us feel welcome.
